This summer, Grow Jackson is excited to bring back one of our favorite summer events: our free community dinners!
During the months of June, July, and August, we will host two community dinners each month, featuring food from some of our favorite local restaurants and caterers.
Each month, we will host one dinner at our St. Mary’s Community Garden, located at 411 S. Mechanic St., and one dinner at the River and Rail Food Hub, located at 140 W. North St.
In addition to the community dinners, we will offer a free six-part garden education series for ages 10 through adult following each dinner. Participants are invited to enjoy a meal and then stay for hands-on learning about gardening, healthy food, composting, pollinators, and more. Attendees will also take home items such as container gardens, seeds, recipes, and other helpful resources throughout the series.
These events are completely free to attend and will include dinner, a free bag of groceries to take home for the first 50 guests, recipes and nutrition resources, activities and games, and plenty of community fellowship. Our community dinners are designed to be fun for the whole family, and guests of all ages are welcome.

Our first dinner on June 18 will feature tacos from Crazy Cowboy, and our second dinner on June 23 will feature pasta dishes from Love, Pasta. Keep an eye on our website and social media accounts for announcements about the other restaurants we will feature throughout the summer!
