What We Do

Grow Jackson works to make accessing fresh food easier for Jackson community members experiencing food insecurity. This crisis is a public health problem. While these issues affect everyone, those who have been marginalized in our community because of race, socioeconomic position, or both, feel the effects of food insecurity at a higher rate than many of their neighbors.

Why Support Grow Jackson?

Grow Jackson is an organization in Jackson County with a huge passion for working to help address this public health problem. Funds donated to Grow Jackson will be handled by people who care about making a measured impact, value partnerships with other local groups, and work to keep equity at the center of our decision-making process.

Ways to Give

To support Grow Jackson, and our mission to end food insecurity for Jackson residents by increasing the availability of fresh food and produce, there are many ways to give.

  • Support Grow Jackson with an online payment.
  • Mail a check to Grow Jackson at our office at 740 W. Michigan Ave Jackson, MI 49201

How will my donation be used?

These funds will be used to maintain our community gardening program and our food rescuing program. Currently we are raising funds to get a better vehicle for next season, secure a permanent location to expand our food production capacity, and contribute to our staffing and programming expenses. Our community gardening program engages young people and community members in gardening education, food justice conversations, and food access initiatives.
